Synopsis:

Islam as a classically formal religion shackled with edicts could never influence the common people of Bangladesh. In fact the mystics who first came out of the orthodox textual Islam made a communion between the orthodox Islam full of edicts with the day-to-day activities and thoughts along with less ritualistic religious bindings. This significant simplification won the hearts of the common Muslims of the country. In the Process, a new Islam was born which can be called Islam of common people or “Popular Islam”.
